Maybe this is old news but the WMA URLs for Radio 1,2 3 & 4 in the first post which are marked UK only now seem to work outside of the UK. Perhaps some US listeners could try them and confirm. 1,2,3 and 4 confirmed on the left coast. :) No joy with 1, 2, 3, or 4 here in Colorado. I get the &quo...

WiFi Access Point Tweaks?

Hi folks, My D-Link 524 Rev C access point (updated with latest firmware, as of June 2006), allows me to tweak the WiFi settings. I'd appreciate any guidance on the optimal settings for Roku M1001 and Roku Radio performance. In general, I have no network complaints at the moment, except that I can't...

DI-524 working well with latest firmware upgrade

Hi Mike, I upgraded the firmware for my D-Link DI-524 rev C wireless router, and then upgraded my M1001 and Roku Radio to 2.7.17. Both Roku devices are working flawlessly. The constant dropped connections I reported earlier with 2.7.17 have disappeared. I've been running the M1001 for about 8 hours ...

DI-524

Thanks, Mike. I use the D-Link DI-524. It was not in the "not supported" list of wifi access points when I bought my M1001 and Roku Radio, but it now does appear on the Roku site's list of problem hardware. I haven't yet tried to upgrade the DI-524's firmware... I'll repost if an update is...

Thanks, but can't use 2.7

Thanks, Mike. Problem is that I can't use 2.7 beta because my 2.7 does not communicate well with my D-Link router, causing constant dropped connections for both radio and mp3 file playback.

Will Roku's future releases support the D-Link routers, as releases through 2.5.174 did?

Pressing preset button mistakenly saves current station

On my Soundbridge Radio, at times when I press a preset button on the top of the device, the radio saves the current station to the preset rather than playing the station assigned to the button. This is very annoying because the inadvertent saving of the current station to the preset obliterates the...

All BBC available on Roku via AlienBBC and Slimserver

Doug: Yes, it's really a nuisance that Roku doesn't yet support Real Audio. I hold out hope that they'll include it in a near-future release. But in the meantime, you CAN listen to all BBC stations by setting up Slimserver and AlienBBC on your computer, which will then stream to your Roku. See the f...

Pseudo BBC World Service station

It's not a true 24-hour feed of the Beeb world service, but the "KCRW World News" link stored in the Roku's Internet Radio "favorites" has the BBC World service more times than not. It's sound quality is also a lot higher than the standard BBC internet feed. Go to http://www.kcrw...

Seems to me that I see Real Audio support as a priority request in these fora.

BBC sweetness on Roku

There are super instructions for setting up AlienBBC and Slimserver to play on a Roku. I use it often. Living in Colorado, I can listen to all the BBC channels, including the excellent "BBC listen again" service that lets you listen to the week's shows whenever you want. Excellent instruct...

WMA

Thanks for the excellent suggestion of the slimserver solution. I do have slimserver set up on my server... only problem is that we've recently subscribed to Microsoft's URGE system, and my son wants to stream protected WMA files to his bedroom... and slimserver can't decrypt the protected WMA. Look...

Is 2.5.174 available for Roku Radio too?

I'd like to upgrade my Roku Radio's firmware to 2.5.174. I know that to do so I need the "wired MAC address" to submit to the Roku web site. I can't find the wired MAC address in my Roku Soundbridge Radio's interface. So, is the 2.5.174 exclusively for the Soundbridge M1001, M2001, etc., o...

Client software

Thanks, all. I could set my son up with WMP on his laptop, and then stream the mp3s across our home network. The only problem is that I can't seem to get all the Windows services configured correctly for our home server to be seen across the network by his laptop. Since Windows Media Player and our ...
