Re: Twitter Interactive 'Plan 9 From Outer Space'

We'll be airing cult classic Reefer Madness tonight, on Old School Social Studies Films. Interactive, so you can tweet in using #ReeferLive https://beta-static.photobucket.com/images/z283/davebarnitz/0/d51dac90-140c-478a-a63c-4af191585de0-original.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds

Re: Roku pulling all videos on the channel every 6 hours

Honestly only a few people post here with much frequency. Not sure if they use AWS although people have stated it in the past. You could have better results if you try searching the forum for AWS and direct messaging them asking if they encountered this. I don't use them, though what you're saying c...

Re: Direct Publisher Automatically Generated BIF?

Could it be a feature of your video host? That auto generates it?  I always figured variations like that vary by host. I think at first I thought the Netflix's etc created them somewhat manually, but one time I saw them on a small channel I was watching.

Re: Channel not Updating

Make sure when you're in the update channel list, (Feed URL, Categories, Branding) to also go to the BOTTOM one, I think it's Preview & Publish, and there will be a button saying Publish or Update or something. Kindof an undetailed workflow as one could easily add Categories or a new URL feed an...

Re: Ad Income

It's a loaded & sorta private question, however I'll give a shot at answering.  Yes, you can make money from Ads on Roku. IMHO the criteria, is lower than you're suggesting. I don't think you need to meet numerous standards with some agencies. I believe for Roku's RAF (internal ad server dept) i...

Re: Ad Server tag won't validate

Had an issue where my url worked fine, and it had "Ad Tracking ID" in it, but I took it out for a bit to test some things on the channel, then went to put it back in and it said it (now) also needed "Ads Limit Tracking" now too. Or something like that, might've been vice versa. b...

Twitter Interactive 'Plan 9 From Outer Space'

Hi,  I run a Roku channel, it's a little known one, called Old School Social Studies Films ( https://channelstore.roku.com/details/140864/old-school-social-studies ), it's a niche, little known channel full mostly of historical & public domain films. Last week, we did something new & what I ...

Re: Switching Channel from SDK to Direct Publisher

It can't be done natively, in otherwords, there isn't an established method in the dashboard to achieve it. None that I'm aware of. However I would try reaching out to Roku in some way (mod: Roku Shawn or Joel or whoever the current one is). Or if you have any contacts or past emails you can reach o...

Try a capital "HLS", and it'll need a thumbnail image. Could be one of those two.

Re: Direct Publisher Feed Validation

Is that true about the deleting videos that don't work?  How quickly would that happen?  I mean, within a few hours or over the course of days. If one were to livestream would updating it that morning be sufficient?

Re: making a stupid mistake need a second set of eyes HELP PLEASE!!

Your bottom two 'Release Dates' have a different time format. Release date is only YYYY-MM-DD, you put a full code date/time stamp that belongs in "Last Updated" field.

Re: Newbie problem

Each feeds different but I took a look at it, you seem to have nothing/null for "Category". Can you try naming one in it ("Soaps"), try adding tags too. Or take them out altogether but I'm not sure null is valid for a category field. Also, do you still have the original feed that...
