Re: Roku and 5g

Can someone anyone please tell me weather or not a Roku Express can be hooked to Wi-Fi land line or no? I bought this 2 or 3 yrs back never used it but now that i need it I'm discovering that I'm behide on upgrades models. Before I just give up on the one i have I was wondering if anyone knew of so...

Re: Roku Game Development?

Yeah Retaliate's a great game. Midnight Divide (same developer) seems to have stepped up a bit of the overall graphics & feel of the look & graphics, but personally I find Retaliate has more of an 'arcade' style..

Re: Category list using SDK

You'll probably be better off posting this in the SDK section. Most of us here tend to stay solely with DP & not know much coding. There's a few, not sure how frequently they check back.

Re: HLS live channel to Roku

I believe HLS Live streaming does work now, although I don't recall seeing any kind of official announcements about it (maybe there was a blog post or something). But people here just started posting about a year or so ago about it on their channels with other questions about it. Seems it does work,...

Re: Different Subscription Packages with Direct Publisher

Not at all possible in DP. That'd even be a heckuva custom coded channel.

Re: resume

I understand what you are saying. I agree it really eases things, especially being able to come back days later. It's dependent on the channel however. Try to understand, channels like Netflix, Hulu & others have teams of developers coding. Even some smaller channels likely have a small group do...

Re: Roku requires that names for channels within the Channel Store are unique. The name you have selected for your chann

That is odd. Did you try searching for the channel both thru the Roku Search feature, and then also the internet site https://channelstore.roku.com/browse ?  Also, how long ago was your channel approved, myb it takes a couple days to be on the store. Although, why are you resubmitting your channel? ...

Re: How long does it take to get published?

AFAIK usually about a week, maybe 2ish. If 2+ weeks go by maybe try reaching out. I think it goes up & down and maybe some RSG channels redo theirs each year, and they get a backlog in January. Sorta guessing there & giving them the benefit of the doubt, but it may be a small team that revie...

Re: I have a question

It's been a while but last time I'd done it it was to email enrollment @ roku.com to enroll, (I think you need to fill out a W9 with EIN or SSN), and to receive reporting it was to email Karl at kandersson @ roku.com. Include your name, channel name, Email associated with your developer dashboard ac...

Re: Channel Store and Thumbnail Images WRONG!

Probably a cache-ing issue, where Roku or something somewhere 'remembers' the last image. If you search this section for 'cache' you'll likely find some posts with similar issues. For starters, I would try renaming the images/thumbnails to things like "Thumbnail2"  "MoviePosterThumb2&...

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

Thanks for the update Mike. Glad it worked out. Sorry if some responses came off like 'It's something you did' but when giving feedback on things like this its always best to have an open mind as to what it could be, as opposed to presuming it's a Roku glitch. Glad it worked out & Roku A. Respon...

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

That makes me wonder if it has to do with live stream support, & possibly something changed on Roku's end.  TBH it was always a bit vague if live feeds were supported, and I'm not sure if an official statement was made saying it's supported.  With your livestream host to you get links in multipl...

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

I tried adding the channel. First, are you sure this is the Direct Publisher version?  Looks like a custom site, although admittedly I've never seen a 1 stream DP channels layout). Secondly yeah it seems to get stuck in the loading stream phase. Following what Tim said, I would check the JSON feed (...

Re: Video hosting for direct publisher - vimeo?

I don't think so. It seems the link needed is only available thru Pro, Business & Premium. FWIW it's pretty simple & user friendly, albeit the $240 or so per year. Depending how many videos you need it's fairly reasonable. Other options mostly seem to be self hosting, AWS etc. https://help.v...

Re: How to Stream Content 24/7 on your Channel

For this I think you'd need to almost mimic a control room environment, and feed or loop videos into some sort of software and have it continuously connected to the streaming platform like Livestream. I'm not sure they can set playlists on their end, or if something can be coded but I don't think wi...
