Re: Amazon Prime Video - Greece

That is controlled by Amazon, not Roku. While Prime might be available on other devices, it's up to Amazon to make it available on Roku devices. Roku themselves have no control over it.

Re: Issue with Playstation Vue DVR on Roku for sports

You will have to talk to Sony. They created the channel, not Roku, so Roku has no control over its content or how it works.

Re: Roku/Brazil

Roku doesn't block channel or media access. That is done by the channel creators and/or the media content providers. For the two channels that I know for certain are created by Roku, the Roku Channel is US only (although they might have added Canada, not certain). This is due I'm sure to the licensi...

Re: New Roku Ultra + Synology: No compatible media found

The MKV container is supported, but MKV can hold virtually any codec, and that is just as important as the container itself. Correct that the AVI container isn't supported.  . DLNA doesn't have user accounts or logins. That is more generally seen with direct folder access, such as a shared network f...

Re: New Roku Ultra + Synology: No compatible media found

RMP will only show media that it believes are compatible. So if the media itself is not compatible with a Roku, then your DLNA server must transcode the media into a compatible format. It sounds like the Synology media server isn't doing it. Not all NAS devices are powerful enough to offer transcodi...

Re: Why does no Roku streaming device include Gigabit Ethernet?

They may not "spec" for it in their support documentation, but they would essentially eliminate Nvidia Shield as a competitor for those of us that are hard core home theater peeps. Still wouldn't replace my Shield if for no other reason than lossless audio bitstreaming. The Shield gives m...

Re: subscription services netflix vs amazon

No such thing as "better". While they both offer streaming services, they are different enough that I don't consider them as an either/or. For a long time I had both, but I realized we watched Netflix so seldom it just wasn't worth keeping it, especially with the last price increase. With ...

Re: hbo on hulu

I signed up for hbo on Hulu, which i can watch on my roku device, BUT the roku search does NOT search hbo on hulu. any advice It's up to the channel developer (in this case Hulu) to permit the Roku search to work in their channel. You'd have to ask Hulu support, but don't be surprised if they say i...

Re: New product

That's certainly a possibility. That link shows a Bluetooth connection is used for configuration. It doesn't mention if the Relay supports 11AC, so can't confirm or deny if it matches that FCC information. I also can't find what model number Roku has assigned to the Relay, but the FCC info shows a m...

You probably need to ask this in the developer's forum. This forum is for end users and few of us would have any idea about what you're asking.

Re: The new FireTV Cube has great specs, will Roku respond?

There's another post of a newly issued FCC ID for a new Roku product. The details are covered under a  confidentiality release date, so we can't determine what it might be. The only detail I could get from the FCC documents is that it will support Bluetooth, although how we don't know. Hopef...

Re: New product

Interesting. It's for the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi bands, but also shows Bluetooth overlap. Perhaps they're adding support for BT headphones. It shows a  confidentiality release date of Feb 28, 2020, so I would expect a product announcement near that date. Can't figure out any additional details from ...

Re: Constant Re-Activating channels, ESPN is daily.

Unfortunately that completely out of the control of Roku. It's one of two things, either the channel/app isn't connecting correctly to the authentication server (so it's an app problem) or the server that provides the authentication (either the cable/satellite company or again whomever is responsibl...

Re: The Reason Roku Does Not Support Lossless Audio Playback

DTS-MA is NOT bitstreamed passthrough. Only the lossy DTS core will pass, so you lose the HD portion of the audio, including any DTS:X encoding. And we never received confirmation that trueHD bitstreaming was working.  . I seriously doubt Roku will ever offer lossless decoding, as that requires lice...

Re: Adding a DVR feature to an Roku TV?

There's no known way to do it currently. If Roku is working on something like this, they never acknowledge it until release. No you do have another option. A device called the HD HomeRun connects to your cable/TV antenna and your network, and serves as a networked DVR and can stream the recorded vid...
