Re: how to put a tv card in a roku

There are cablecard tuners available for your computer and the computer can host the Plex servers which will let you watch the recordings on as many Rokus as you have on your network. I was doing that until I recently moved to another city that didn't have cable Tv as an option. I was on Comcast in ...

Stuck in 4k mode. HELP!

I took my roku 4 to my friend's house to watch on his 4k set. I forgot to change the settings back to 1080p. Now I am hooked back to my 1080p tv and can't see the picture to change the settings.

Is there a remote code to change the picture settings back?

Re: Comcast ROKU app coming this fall

I might be interested in checking it out. Still a lot of questions to be answered though. Additional fees? How many concurrent streams allowed? Does it incur a 2-year contract? Does it apply to all TV packages including the basic ones that are practically free when packaged with internet service......

Re: Food/HGTV/Travel channels

I tend to agree, I find all these 'Go' channels useless. I cut the cord almost 4 years ago, I have no subscription to watch these channels...that is the point. If I still had cable, I wouldn't need a Roku. The Roku was the best addition to may cable service because if gives me a lot of my favorite ...

Re: Food/HGTV/Travel channels

If I have cable or a dish, why on EARTH would I want to watch anything on Roku and put up with buffering, rebuffering, etc? The world is filled with idiots and most of them run corporations or are in politics. If you get good broadband there shouldn't be any rebuffering. I never do and I would alwa...

Re: Would you pay $10/month for Ad-Free Youtube?

I would imagine they would have one ads and one ad free like Hulu did. Going only ad free would kill the channel.
Giving customers an ad free option will help them but most of us will put up with the ads to get it free.

For Hulu it was an easy choice to pay $4 to upgrade to commercial free.

Re: New NBC Roku Channel

As a recent cutter I find this interesting. I wounder if it might have an impact on the paid CBS app. I have both channels and they are much different in content level. NBC has 13 shows almost all current or new shows and still has some episodes available from last year. The CBS channel has 97 show...

Re: New NBC Roku Channel

NBC is one of the forces behind Hulu. I'm wondering why they didn't offer this as an add-on to Hulu. I'm not complaining, or wishing they did, it's just that I figured they might use a resource they're already in with. NBC is not really a force behind Hulu. When Comcast purchased NBC/Universal they...

Re: Roku 4 rumored release?

To be honest, if you are going the Sling TV way, I would say let them subsidize the cost of an Amazon Fire TV box instead of the Roku. The AFTV box is faster than the Roku. If you ever plan on doing local streaming, say MKV or MP4 files from a computer to the Roku, the Roku has quite limited suppor...

Re: Hulu trying an ad free tier

I'm really liking it first. Of course the reason why it is more expensive than Netflix is because Hulu has current episodes. That will always cost more. I love the new Hulu and Netflix. :)
