Re: MRSS Feed Update Utility

Ahh yes, your issue is still under active investigation. We will followup with you via the ongoing thread with our Partner Success team. If there are any mandatory edits/updates required on your end (and, thus, on any publisher's end who's experiencing similar problems), then I will comment here as ...

Re: Need Analytics for Series/Episodes

This might be a bug in the Direct Publisher tool and I'd like to investigate more closely. Could you please provide me with the name of your channel and the email associated with it? Feel free to private message me if you don't want to share publicly.

Re: Question: Building 'Beta' channel vs. 'Live' channel

Thanks for the info.  That clears up some issues.  However, I've got a question regarding the usage of RAF with Direct Publisher.  Using the SDK, I was able to dictate when and how many ads were shown.  I typically used the length of the video to determine how many ads to show.  It does not appear ...

Re: "Continue Watching" disabled

I'm using json as well and it is not able to be selected...  Are all of your content items listed as shortFormVideos? Per your comments in some other threads, these will likely need to be recategorized as episodes and nested within series/season objects. "Continue Watching" is disabled on...

Channel analytics are currently only available in the US Channel Store. However, this restriction will be removed in the near future.

Re: JSON Feed Errors

Also the direct player has some limitations, 15 categories and 40 videos per category. I ran into that undocumented roadblock immediately and have to create several different channels to get all my content on roku.. That's not exactly accurate.  Direct Publisher has a limit of 25 rows, with 40 cont...

Re: Direct Publisher and RAF

Does anyone know the payout schedule?  I'd assume it's monthly, do you receive an email with numbers and payout, or do you just check your Paypal account? (Nothings in there yet).  Also, anyone have any experience as to if it takes a while or not?  Roku can set up a report that will be emailed to y...

Re: ready to publish, link doesn't work!!

Hi Mitchstein, I take it your public channel is still pending review, correct? And I also take it that this is an SDK channel, as opposed to Direct Publisher? Feel free to shoot me the channel name and channel ID. You can send it to me in a private message if you'd prefer. I can take a look at the c...

Re: MRSS Feed Update Utility

RokuTomC, thanks for the further clarification.  But, can you also verify that JSON can be used for short videos (less than 20 minutes)?  If that's the case, I'll definitely try to update my code to support JSON sooner than later. My site is predominantly shortform videos. Works fine with JSON.  Th...

Thanks for clarifying, Gabriel. Unfortunately, you can not create a custom TrickPlayBar node. There's no way to extract the images from a .bif file

Re: direct publisher limitations and observations

Hi mitchstein, just jumping in here with answers/solutions to a few of the remaining open questions in this thread: 1) 15 categories, 40 shows per category 600 unique videos maximum per channel. —> The limit content limit for Direct Publisher channels is actually 25 rows, 40 content items per row. ...

Re: MRSS Feed Update Utility

JSON feeds include richer metadata. The two main benefits in a JSON feed over MRSS are: ⋅ Support for additional mediaTypes other than shortForm, such as series, seasons, and movies. These additional mediaTypes also exhibit different channel behavior, namely they launch into a springboard ...

Re: ready to publish, link doesn't work!!

So far I am very happy and may go Roku exclusive, but we will know in a month. My private channels on the plain jane, box cutter, sample coded player does extremly well, what I am looking for is more users on the public channel within a few months then I have on my private channel, if that happens ...
