Re: Direct Publisher and RAF

Pasnow is correct — Roku takes a few days to review your content subject matter appropriateness before "turning on" ads.

Traditionally, we won't serve ads on private channels.

Happy to help. Could you please provide some sample code that recreates the issue, or a private/public channel link that illustrates the behavior?

Can you elaborate on your request, please? You've created your .bif file but don't want to implement trickplay? In what way are you hoping to display your images?

Re: Channel approval

Thanks for the inquiry Derek, and sorry for the delay. What is the channel ID for the channel in question, or the channel access code? Feel free to private message me if you'd prefer.

The "Continue Watching" feature is only available for JSON feeds. Are you using JSON or MRSS for your channel feed?

Re: Live stream

We do not currently have a mediaType for live streams, but we have identified this as a potential feature addition in the future. In the meantime, live videos will still play in a Direct Publisher channel, there will just be no designation within the channel UI that indicates that the stream is live...

Re: Question: Building 'Beta' channel vs. 'Live' channel

The publishing process is much easier with Direct Publisher. Essentially, you create a "private" channel as you go through the channel creation process — the preview link provided to you at the end of the process is essentially a functioning private channel. Once you submit the channel for...

Re: JSON Feed and Converting Channels

You can find an example of a working JSON Direct Publisher feed here: https://api.myjson.com/bins/3sa1g Once you've configured your feed properly, the channel conversion process will actually be quite quick and easy (assuming your branding assets are all prepared). When you click the "Convert t...

Re: Direct Publisher channel approval

You're correct — once a Direct Publisher channel is published, you can change its contents at any time by reconfiguring your feed. You'll only need to resubmit the channel if you change the channel information or brand assets. Note that the changes will not appear immediately. Your feed is re-ingest...

There isn't much to change beyond the videoType field. Also note that you don't need to set the bitrate.

Re: Test conversion to Direct Publisher

When using the "Convert to Direct Publisher" option, your channel won't be published until it passes certification, similar to when you first created the channel. You will have the option to view the channel via the preview code that is generated. Once you're pleased with the way the chann...

Can you share your channel install code? And perhaps even the content feed? Feel free to message it to me directly if you don't want to share publicly. I'll help troubleshoot.

Odd Network's feed configuration tool is free, but it only works with Vimeo currently.

I believe you were looking at their pricing estimator for their non-Direct Publisher solutions.
