I have windows xp sp2 with the firewall turned on and get no hangups or anything. Both the Roku and the windows box can run for days. Actually the Windows box goes for weeks, but I have to reboot the Roku from time to time because of apps gone awry.
Just wanted you to know it can work OK.

Re: cover art. There is an option to save cover art in the mp3 tags of the songs. I haven't chosen to do that because of the bloat.

Re: Searching, you can search by post rather than by topic. That will get you what you want.

sdesk looks really interesting. I would like to make the roku easier for my daughter to use.
Does anyone want to comment on their experience with the app? Did it run all of your roku apps, such as slimroku, etc?

Thanks very much,
Gary

Like TheEndless, mine is just warm to touch. I wonder if they got a lot of bad powersupplies. Could that be why they are finding a different manufacturer for these?

Re: Bug with 1.0B rebuild

1) When you use menu and scroll down to the internet radio option it selects or "high light" each option key when you land on it, but it does not deselect it when you move off of it. The result is all the buttons are turned on when you get to internet radio and you are not sure what button you are ...

Well, it doesn't work as well as I'd thought. In the morning when I can turn the volume up past 2 without waking anyone I hear that the sound quality with SlimRoku when I play wma files converted to lame mp3 is not very good - not nearly as good as the Listen app. <sigh>

This is really a lovely application for the ROKU. It took me awhile to get wma files working, but now they do and my whole library seems to play. Well, there's a few troublesome files I should try, but so far so good. I couldn't find anywhere on this forum how to get the wma files to work with slimr...

Thank you for taking a look at it, soiaf. wma works on many of my files, but the mono radio programs weren't happy until I re-sampled as stereo and 44,100. They were at 22,050, I think. But I only had a dozen or so of those. The bigger problem is pretty often Listen decides a song is over before it ...

My understanding is that the soundbridge supports more audio formats. For instance, wma. The photobridge has a third-party plug-in for this, but it doesn't work all that well. And the Soundbridge does music services, where the photobridge doesn't. If I knew now what I didn't know before I bought the...

This begins to slip more into windows networking support than ROKU support, but if you are mounting shares you don't want to, I can think of only two possibilities. It could be either one (or something else I am not thinking of). 1) The shares are shared with no restrictions. That is, anyone on the ...
