It's not a problem with your box. A lot of the podcasts are in a format that won't work on the Roku. Mediafly has said they are working on this. Everything in the "popular video podcasts" tab has been tested and will play. If you choose your own, some will play and some won't. You sure th...

They said it is their policy to not have Porn on the box, but who knows. Again, the quote was "As a policy, Roku is not interested in bringing porn to the Roku player." That sounds like they will put no effort into bringing in porn, not that the box will be closed to it. Subtle difference.

Before you pick on just netflix........ What about all the other free and non-free online video streaming and downloading places? There are two "800 pound gorillas" of streaming. Hulu has been captioning for about a year now, I think. Once Netflix is captioning, it'll be much easier for N...

paying more

Here it is popping up again...The core issue we will be facing down the line is all about making consumers SPEND MORE for programming. Great plan for the Netflix shareholders and their new content provider partners. Not really so much for the consumer. I can only watch so much video, so once I have...

Regardless of the HDMI 1.3b specs, the Roku box does not output 1080i or 1080p. For their purposes, HD is defined as 720p only. So whether Netflix or Amazon or any other potential partner does 1080anything is moot at this point. Are you saying that the chipset used in the player cannot handle 1080 ...

According to an old post the roku is capable of hdmi 1.3b. Which means 1080p (which is better than 1080i) Some say that 720p is better than 1080i which might be why this feature hasn't been added--Plus bandwidth issues. The Netflix player was tested for compatibility against HDMI 1.3b, and it passe...

OK, thanks very much! But why would re-booting the Roku solve the problem? Would I not still be getting the same stream for that episode? There's a range of streams available for different connection bandwidth. If there is any variability in your bandwidth, you will get different quality streams at...

Re: subtitles on Netflix Roku

I am considering buying a Netflix Roku but first want to know if it will display on-screen subtitles for foreign movies? If Netflix has encoded the video stream with subtitles, they will appear. If not, they won't. The Roku box has nothing to do with subtitles - they are either in the movie or not....

Am I the only one who sees absolutely ZERO appeal to YouTube on my TV? Why? There is NOTHING there. It's just stupid videos that people email. Sure, funny, but I get them via email links or embedded in web pages, neither of which are conducive to a set top box. Can someone please explain to me the ...

calm yourselves.

For the 3rd time- 720p IS HD. Look at Walmart.. Look at Best Buy.. Look at Circuit City.. 720P TV's are HDTV's. They broadcast HD signals, and most HD channels have a 720P maximum output as well- NOT 1080i or 1080p. So stop bitching at Roku for "only" sticking for 720P right now- for a $1...

Anthony Wood (Roku Founder) demos Netflix Player

http://www.tvmainstream.com/default.cfm?cat=0&ID=10213&type=flv&clip=8 It's a keynote speech at a streaming media conference. Not much info that's new. but it is somewhat amusing to see Wood, who also founded Replay TV, struggle with his own consumer electronics (getting sound out of Qu...

Starzplay live channel - can I get it on the box?

Netflix subscribers can watch this stream:

http://www.netflix.com/StarzLive

How about finding a way to put it in our queue, or can you just add it to the box with the next update?

Sorry if somebody asked already, my search for starzplay brought nothin'
