Re: How do I trap controller motion?

Other than the way I mentioned, using third party accelerometers in iPhone and android, there is no way to do it yet.

Re: live radio server

I don't know if anyone noticed, last week a channel showed up in the channel store for a few hours and then vanished, Pride 99.1 Radio or something, streaming electronic music. It was clearly unfinished in terms of the Graphics, but, the flower thing started up and streamed INSTANTLY. I'm assuming t...

Re: How do I trap controller motion?

However, if you are an iPhone or Android developer, there is no reason why you couldn't build the same functionality into your app using roInputEvent, but that would require an external device that doesn't ship with a Roku.

Re: live radio server

Shoutcast definitely works, you have to make sure you are streaming mp3s though, not AAC. It would be nice to know if there is some other method for streaming live mp3s than shoutcast though, anybody know?

Re: Eclipse plugin for Brightscript Beta

I haven't been able to connect with eclipse since I downgraded to 3.6.2 - that was the one thing that was working on the newer version of Eclipse. Where/How do I go about setting this up properly? The RSP console has a drop-down but I can only see the first part of the address 192 the rest is cut of...

Re: How can your app know when the screen is done drawing?

Getting roImageCanvas working the way you want is all about timing, putting sleep() statements in various places and experimenting till something works. Also, imagecanvas starts off slow, and then speeds up if you keep drawing to it. You can actually have multiple objects moving around the screen an...

You might also do it with roparagraphscreen, useful for displaying simple text, with previous and next buttons.

Re: Paypal for PPV

It looks like PayPal offers a REST style api, if they do, then you should be able to do it although you might have to figure some of the Roku's less well documented cryptographical functions. Just search for PayPal API on google.

Re: Ooyala feed expiration

I"ve had it done before for another client, and it was the Roku feed. I'm pm'ing you with the name of the Ooyala engineer who set this up for me. The project itself was under NDA so I can't talk to you about who or what the project was, and I would appreciate if you don't ask the engineer about...

Re: Ooyala feed expiration

The work around is to talk to Ooyala support and have them boost the expiration time for the feed to something like a year. They will do this for you, assuming you are the owner on the account, if not, contact the account owner. Also, if you can figure out the Ooyala API authentication process (SHA2...
