Re: BrS: comparing 2 objects for identity?

That seems like it would work, but holy cow, two big string conversions and a super giant string compare!

Re: makefile quickly results in No space left on device

BTW, I've adopted the habit of first deleting the existing channel, then sideloading the new version, and I haven't had the issue ever again. It's possible the issue was fixed via firmware and my actions are only coincidental, but it made sense to me that it would help.

Re: How long is your code?

I have about 1200 Functions, so I guess that's about an average of 30 lines each. But really the normal Function is smaller (like around 10-15 lines most commonly), it's just that some are very long such as having big lists.

Re: How long is your code?

I seem to be bad at estimating the future, because now I'm up to 37,883, and I'm certainly not done yet, but hopefully in another year or so ;-)

Re: Issue with math: float calculation, ToStr()

For some reason I had the impression that x.ToStr() was only for integers, not floats. Because that actually prints correctly: ? str(1.1*9)  9.900001 ? (1.1*9).tostr() 9.9 Thanks for the suggestions. I like the idea of always doing all math with integers, but at this point I don't want to go back an...

Re: Issue with math: float calculation, ToStr()

I just implemented this to brute force solve it: FUNCTION checkStrFloat(Str AS STRING) AS STRING ' trig by getItemDscr(1), c2Inventory(1) ' Search for a . in the string, then check if the string is longer than one character past the . and if so, trim off the rest StrLen = Str.Len() FOR i = 1 TO StrL...

Issue with math: float calculation, ToStr()

Try this: ? 1.1* 9 console prints 9.9 But try this: ? str(1.1 * 9) console prints 9.900001 I assume this is some sort of floating point rounding error having to do with binary math and how computers work, etc etc. But it's a problem for me, because in my game when the player is holding 9 spider abdo...

Re: Enter debug mode command

His point is that with a better telnet Ctrl-C might start to work.

Re: Telnet re-connection

I have to deal with that from time to time as well, and I haven't found any better solution. I try to avoid it, by always closing my connection when not using it.

Re: Upload error

I looks like you'll have to make sure there is definitely an m.Player at that point. You can test it by printing to console above it, put it a line
? "m.Player = " m.Player
and see what it says, such as "invalid" or a component or something

Re: Upload error

 m.poster.uri=""
 m.background.uri=""

These should be url (U R L)

You also have that below in OnContentChange()

(Notice the error message told you the line number)
