Add time remaining: I don't really know time, just file positions/sizes. For DVDs, the bit rate is variable, so with the info I have, I can not give you any time. I'd need help from the decoder to figure out time. Sorry. Could you do a time running? You could start the timer when Play is pressed, t...

Is it me or why is the SPDIF connection on the back of the HD1000 round? It looks like a RCA connection not the square/rounded SPDIF is this a different cable or will normal SPDIF cable work?

ermm.. It's a standard digital coax connection. Are you thinking of optical?

Does this work NTSC as well? I have audio problems with NTSC DVD's, Video works fine. Do you loose anything (quality wise) when you do this conversion? Since there's no transcoding being done, there is no loss in quality at all. Not sure if it will have any affect on audio glitches, though. TheEndl...

I had some problems with Windows 2003 shares as well. Take a look at this thread to see how I fixed it. Might be the same issue you're having:

Application Icon Limit

There still seems to be the 12 application limit per share. Will this be addressed in the 2.0 release?

I understand the purpose of the swap file and how it works, but my point in initially posting this was that it doesn't seem to work with 2.0 beta. I saved the swap.roku file to my CF (512MB) and my HD1000 running the new 2.0 beta doesn't recognize the file - it doesn't even show it on my display. S...

Re: PAL Support

TheEndless, Can you please tell me what is VLC convert of the VOB to ts and how to do it? Thanks, Sushkamb Sushkamb, You can download VLC here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Once you have it downloaded, run it and follow these steps: Select File | Open File... Also, the video was choppy, is that just me or is anyone else seeing that? Is the DVD in PAL format? There seems to be a problem with the decoder decoding VOBs encoded at 25fps (PAL standard), rather than the NTSC standard of 29.97fps. It chokes up every second when it can't find the missing 4 fram...

With the exception of a few of my movies not having sound (though I think that's a Roku issue, not an MPlay issue, as they don't play in the default player, either), this works brilliantly! Any chance you could make the latest source available? It looks like the source available for download is an o...

Re: PAL Support

I have noticed jerkiness in the playback of one of my PAL DVDs as well. Is it because of 25fps? Now i have tested a second one, but the same result. Is there somebody who noticed the same, except vj9999? Greets Joachim I noticed the same problem with a PAL DVD. I did a quick VLC convert of the VOB ...

Feature Request: Cover Art for folders

As I understand it, right now you have to have all of your DVDs in a single folder in order to get the cover art to work. This doesn't really seem practical for me, as I have several HD movies split into multiple files for FF/RW functionality, as well as many DVDs. Is it possible in a future release...

Thanks for all the replies on Christmas Eve! I would need captions eventually to watch foreign films. The menus would be VERY nice eventually also. The family will be using the HD1000 to watch movies, and they will want to watch deleted scenes, extras, etc. I was thinking the same thing about the C...

Thanks, but I didn't start this thread to get workarounds. The intent is to give Roku feedback on what I feel must be fixed before this is released. Either the HD1000 will play my *existing* ripped DVD collection to my satisfaction, or it won't. In the latter case I'll just keep using a PC running ...

As far as DTS is concerned, though, we have no DTS decoder so DTS audio streams won't play. Excuse my ignorance, but is a decoder needed for pass-through (or whatever term you would use for sending out an undecoded audio stream when not in stereo-downmix mode)? My pre-amp decodes the raw DTS stream...

Yeah of course obviously I can go back and re-rip all 200 of my DVDs that way. Never mind that Roku tells you to do the exact opposite - rip them into ONE BIG FILE. But there's no way I'm going to do either one of these things.... I've been successful with splitting VOB files with HJSplit. The spli...
