Andy,

RealVNC 4.0 works fine. It must be a problem with UltraVNC.

SlimServer and Firefox 2.0

Problem solved. You need to explicitly allow localhost/9000 in NoScript.

Andy,

It runs PC to PC with Ultra VNC, which is what I've been using

Firefox 2.0

Somewhat off topic, but I can't get Slimserver to work with Firefox 2. It won't rescan music tracks and you're stuck in the first page of server settings. IE7 works fine.
Anyone else having troubles, or is it just me?

Problem with VNC6

While VNC6 has run faultlessly on my PC's for a few months now, I've just run into a problem that it appears not to display Google Earth. All I get is a garbled screen.
Anyone else run into this, or can suggest a solution?

Andy,

:0 is the answer. I can now see the PC screen on the TV.
Thanks for all your help, it is appreciated.
By the way, if "ClearServer" is meant to clear the server IP's from the Roku, it doesn't.

At last, a little progress. I've found that the SetupServer.roku script is extremely finicky in how it is saved. It will only work if you use a fresh script, modify it, and then move to the line below the script to save it. Then it works. If you look at in in Notepad, this is a version that ends in ...

No, the ListServers and Debug still won't write anything.

Andy,

My VNC directory wasn't readable, but it makes no difference.

I tried leaving a blank line, but that did nothing. I next deleted all the files, downloaded new ones, and tried again. Still the same result. One thing that sort of surprised me was that the IP addresses I had managed to store previously were still there. I guess these are stored on the Roku? Is th...

One further thought. I'm changing the SetupServer script using Textpad and saving it as a Unix ANSI file. Should it be a DOS, or UTF-8, or a Unicode, instead of ANSI?
I don't understand why the original would pass the server IP address, and this one won't.

I managed to sort out the shares problem. I was doing a "quick" scan, and on my system I apparently have to do a "thorough" scan. VNC6 is now in it's own folder, but nothing has changed. The setup server script still won't pass the IP address to VNC6, and the other log files don'...

I've just come across an odd condition on my Roku. I'd previously run VNC6 as a sub folder of a shared folder "Roku", which also contains the folders SlimRoku, Weather6 and MPlay. Just to see if it made a difference, I moved VNC6 to it's own shared folder. Trying to rescan the network fold...
