Now nothing seems to work! The Setup server doesn't pass the IP to VNC6, and if the Debug and List servers generate text files, I can't find them.

Andy,

Looks like the ServerSetup script in the helper bundle has changed, and I've lost the original. Can you resend it?

Andy, Forgot some other info. I'm not running Windows Firewall, but I am running the Zonelabs Security Suite. Turning this off makes no difference. I'm also running Spyware Doctor 3.8, but, again, turning this off does nothing. Colors are set at 16 bit. I'm hard wired, other Roku apps work fine. Dav...

Andy,

I can connect from another computer on my network using the same IP address and password as in the setup script. However, the Roko won't show anything. I suspect it's something obvious.......??
It's a shame as the VNC server seems to be just what I wanted.

I'm still having trouble with the song display. On the now playing screen the scrolling display shows the correct track, but the main track display sticks on the first song that plays. I'm using Slimserver 6.5 and 1.5 beta 2

OK, that's solved the script problem. I now get to select my server in VNC6, but when I do, nothing happens, I just get a blank screen. It may be the way I'm configuring RealVNC?? Should I add the Roku as a "New Client"? I have my video card set to 16 bit. Is that 1000's of colors? The onl...

Andy, The first suggestion seems to be the problem. I download the script as "SetupServer.roku". In Notepad it's one line. I open Wordpad (all files), change the IP address and password, then do a save. When I look at the saved file with Notepad, it's changed to a multi line item. One furt...

OK, I'd more or less got that far, except I'm using RealVNC. I have it set up on my PC using a password. I've transfered the IP address and password to the "SetupServer.roku" script using Wordpad. How should I save this? As a .txt file, then knock off the .txt? When I run the Roku, everyth...

Andy,

Thanks for your efforts. I will try it as soon as...............

You mention "running a VNC server on my PC". I've no idea, which probably means I don't have one. Where do I obtain one?

Rgds

Andy, Thanks. The problem is I'm merely a wannabe user, rather than a app developer. I want to be able to hit enter at the VNC icon on the Roku GUI, and see what's on my PC screen. I am unfamiliar with "telnet" (I tried your initial command via the command prompt, and nothing happened), an...

Transfering image on PC screen to TV

Is there a program that will allow me to watch the image on my PC screen on the TV (via Roku?).

It usually (invariably?) happens when I turn the unit on for the first time on any given day. Maybe it's because I didn't close the application properly when I exited the day before?

Sound replay unavailable

I'm currently using the latest versions of SlimRoku and MPlay. Quite often I run into a situation where my network connections are fine, ie photos display, SlimRoku loads and I can access my music library, but when I try to play a track I get "Music playback unavailable". If I try to use MPlay, the ...

Thanks for the info. I haven't purchased an SC-101, I was just contemplating it. The DNS-300 looks very interesting, however it doesn't seem to ba available in the US

SlimRoku and Netgear SC101

Has anyone tried the Netgear SC101 network storage system with SlimRoku?
I assume that as SlimRoku uses Slim Server, this would be able to access the NAS files in a way that the Roku itself cannot?
Then all I need is a SlimPhoto!!
