Is there a photo display app for the Roku that can....

...display photos based on tagging? uPnP or some other app someone has written? My wife is a picture taking mad-woman but is great about deleting the shots that are not very good. However, that currently leaves us with just over 4000 family pictures and that number grows daily. It's getting to be to...

Sven, does SDesk offer any features/benefits for viewing pictures beyond those built into the Roku picture browser? I'm looking for navigation/selection functionality, not actual image manipulation functionality. Specifically, we have over 4000 pictures in our library and that amount grows every day...

I have the app (and love it) but I have no idea how to take a snapshot of it... It couldn't be much more basic from a UI standpoint. It's a blue screen with two boxes. One thin/tall one on the left side of the screen that has a text list of genres. The other box is the same height but much wider and...

HexRadio is a Roku app that many use for Internet radio. It's a great little app and is super easy to setup. You just dump the files on a share on your PC and then go to the Roku, find the icon and select it. The user interface is not uber elegant but does the job and is perfectly simple to navigate...

I'm totally okay if nothing happens for a while but it would be good to hear from RokuDon at some point. Don, any chance you can let us know if you're still around??? You still owe us "the best flower video player on the planet." ;-) http://www.rokulabs.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1334

Hey Endless (or others) could you give a ballpark on what a min spec machine would be to run a dedicated slimserver setup? I have a couple of old machines I could use but would rather not turn have our main (kitchen) computer (the one my wife uses for emails and web browsing) running slimserver. For...

Ditto. It will be out when it's ready. In the meantime, it does what I like which is watch recorded TV shows from my PC via MPlay, view pictures and play music. You can already see the negativity machine starting to churn with recent posts from several of the forum members (including this one). I re...

Everyone who has posted about a failed power supply (and there have been a ton of them) have had to wait anywhere from a couple of days to a full week to finally hear back from tech support. However, in the end I think everyone has been taken care of and have been satisfied with the service once Rok...

Steve, definitely lots of threads covering playlists. In fact, search for my name (Mojo) and you should find several very detailed posts on how to make playlists work. I believe MusicMatch creates playlists with hard coded paths such as C:\ or D:\. The Roku has no idea what C:\ is so you need to cha...

Bill, the application should show up in the Roku like any other app you might have added. You should not have to drill into a sub folder to find it. Instead, a Hex Radio icon should appear when you navigate to that share just like Listen/Sonata, Mplay, etc. I forget what Derek's icon is but I think ...

I think RokuDon said he was going to be in Japan all last week so it might take a bit for him to get back in the shop.

Yeah, DVD Decrypter is gone. An imposter has started popping up websites claiming to be Lighning UK! but it's not him.

By the way, if you still use the product, be sure to uncheck the "check for updates" option as macrovision now controls the domain (according to doom9.org).

Macrovision..bah!

You should read the "Is it dead?" thread just a few down from this one by Steve Martin. You are not alone and most likely had a power supply failure which is turning out to be quite common. It looks like Roku customer support will get you taken care of but you need to email them (or call). Read the ...

Sorry if this is a stupid request but could you briefly describe how the SlimServer process works exactly? I assume it's some sort of a service that runs (in the background) on my PC? From the server app you must have some sort of configuration to setup the music files it's supposed to serve up whic...
