you can't go by the genre list Watson. It's just a starting point I guess because of the 6 I have NONE are on that list and they all have the same 3.8 feed. Clear and Present Danger is my latest find. the original Star Trek TV series is another.

how to find Netflix HD content

Somewhere I saw a link, but I lost it. How does one search for the Netflix HD content? Right now my que has 6 out of 65 at HD.

I know it's new and hasn't been fully rolled out yet but I'd like to know what is available.

The real key here is that for the first time in computing history you don't need massive bandwidth. They have algorithms that can tell how to compress in a way that will decompress cleanly as opposed to the older style that always left artifacts. i don't claim to fully understand it though but I kno...

Advising someone to disable their wireless security is not that smart, unless you don't mind your neighbors and people with iPhones hopping on your wireless network, and possibly attacking your home PC's. I never said to leave it off but it's the best way to a- get the name and settings in the mach...

try turning off security including password (wep, wpa etc..) and the firewall. See if you get on then.

Actually Eri3k, those exact symptoms happened to my PS3. It would connect to the net, get an IP, then claim failure connecting to the PSN. Turns out that the DNS of Road Runner was to blame but I never did figure out how exactly. The PS3 has more diagnostics than the Roku though so it's more trial a...

Can you set family filters in Amazon? that won't stop everything though as what America thinks is ok and what a good parent would like their kids to see are often two very different things. Beyond that I realize that dealing with Autism is very difficult but I think the easiest answer lies in your h...

I wonder if it's a DNS issue. If the router gets on fine and the computer gets on then it shouldn't be in the router. However some DNS servers have issues with limelight and thinks like Netflix and even the Playstation Netwrok. Try using open DNS and then try 4.2.2.1 (I think) and see if either get ...

I have a Belkin g. It's the cheap one that doesn't really have a name beyond that. It works fine with the firewalls in place. The firewall may not be needed as such, but I'd rather have security there than turn it off. You could set up a DMZ for the Roku, but you shouldn't need to. The only change I...

Now I have the player and I'm not sure that we need folders. Wouldn't it be just another step to get to the show, more steps if you set the folders up. I get having a lot of movies in the que because sometimes I select one and it tells me about 5 I didn't know existed. I want more specifics. Will it...

I don't have the player yet. How does it handle TV shows? Does it have a folder for them or does it list them individually? Beyond that I don't see how folders would help. Do you want genre folders?

Nothing? Does anyone know if Netflix has a support desk? They have a phone number but it's hard to cut and paste to the phone like the speedtest tells you to do. I really think it's something on Netflix's end at this point. Watching on my PC gives me a mostly good picture but there are times when I ...

I've tested other DNS's and all of them route to DC. Nothing changes the speeds though either through DC or my ISP's DNS and Atlanta. I won't have the Roku till Monday so I can't test it. The little graph on Netflix's site has three bars and high quality. Amazon says i have HD quality. Is the proble...

speed test help?

I've tried using Opendns to help a problem Road Runner was having with PS3's. It sent my netflix to Wshington DC. Switching back to RR dns it goes to Atlanta. I'm in mid NC so both are about the same. My internet speed should be about 7000 - 10000 but this test maxed out at 3000 or so. also the last...

did you do the test on your pc to see if it's a network issue? Usually that warning means the speed is too slow. Amazon sends the signal, it doesn't know what's on your screen.
