Feature Request

Not sure about the longevity of VFD displays. What's the chance of giving the SB a screen saver of some description? Perhaps with a few flashing pixels in the display corners to show that the unit is on. Maybe even a wandering Roku logo, as per HD1000. I'm sure most of us can get a little lazy and j...

SoundBridge hangs when slimserver sleeps

Not sure if this has been discussed before..... Just discovered that when slimserver (5.4) host - in this case, an iBook (X 10.3.6) - goes to sleep or off-line while playing a track, the SoundBridge "hangs". No functions on the remote are available except the volume control. Waking the computer reco...

TheEndless, I agree, it should be totally transparent. Wireless settings on HD1000 setup menu should not come into the equation as this is only for USB based WiFi adaptors. Correct me if I'm wrong here.... The HD1000 should show an IP address in the setup menu with the bridge connected? It always do...

I can definitely reach the bridge's config page over the wireless network. No problem there at all. As I mentioned, the WET54G works perfectly on ALL devices except the HD1000. I tried another wireless AP over the weekend and got the same results - the bridge works fine except on the HD1000. I reall...

Joachim,

Yes, I have tried enabling and disabling MAC filtering. I'm going to do some more experimenting over the weekend with a different router and see if results change.

Stay tuned.

Wireless Bridge Problems Revisited

OK, so I have struggled for a while now with the Linksys WET54G (ver2) bridge trying to get the HD1000 to see it. Every other device and computer on the network has no problem with it - even my SoundBridge. Wireless instructions from the Roku support site have been followed specifically. Here is the...

Re: Autostarting a Movie Clip after Power On

I would like to use the HD1000 in an exhibition, where the power supply is switched off every night, for this purpose i need this autostart feature Ralf, as I understand it, you can write a script that includes an autostart function. Have not done this myself but I believe it is reasonably easy to ...

Digital Living Network Alliance

Not sure how many people out there are aware of the DLNA (http://www.dlna.org), but their vision is quite clear with many members on board developing technology for device and media sharing..... "Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is dedicated to the simplified sharing of digital content, such a...

Re: Configuring CinemaSix to play from VLC

CinemaSix has no problem playing VOBs from ripped DVDs. Works rather well except for some sync issues.

Unfortunately, can't help with the VLC question.

Interesting point. Yes, the company certainly was Avtrex and mentioned in this HD1000 review by extremetech.com http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1536701,00.asp Here is the reference to Avtrex http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1536712,00.asp The review also mentions that Roku is pl...

Ambient Light Sensor

Roku's HD1000 Tech Specs page lists an Ambient Light Sensor on the front panel... http://www.rokulabs.com/products/hd1000/specsheet.php I have tried covering the front panel sensors (both of them) in both a brightly lit and dimly lit room - no effect on the TV picture that I can see. My guess is tha...

I use a Sony RM-AV3000 for the rest of my gear so that's good to hear that it's not the unit itself, but the remote.

I'm also using the Sony RM-AV3000 to run my other 6 components - works extrememly well on the HD1000 after a short "learning" session :D

Cheers
