It took me a while to track it down to the 740x480 resolution issue you mentioned as well. The trick is to also reboot the backend after the resolution change. I also thought it was the VBI setting but I was able to turn it back on and still get valid output. I am now seeing good mpg files generated...

I have my backend working and have recorded about a half a dozen shows so far. MythRoku no longer crashes and shows my currently recorded show list. When I try to play the shows, audio is much faster then the video so the sound arrives before the mouths move. Reading through the thread I see one oth...

If someone hasn't already suggested it, displaying the current channel number on the screen when in LiveTV would be a nice addition. Since my backend is blank, I am seeing a crash at: #0 0x00444644 in MythBrowser::findEpisode () I am assuming it has something to do with an empty backend. It seemed t...

I just started working on my myth backend with the intent to use MythRoku. I had to get two of my Roku's repaired. One is back from Pyramid who did a great job. The other should be on its way. I am still climbing the backend learning curve as I still haven't gotten live tv from my atsc tuner working...

Just had on of my PB die. No voltage readings from the PS. Just ordered two replacements from Logic Supply. The second is for my other unit which will die based on all the mortality data on this thread alone. Thanks to everyone who has trodden this path before. I find it amazing how hard we will wor...

First off you should be aware that ripping and decrypting your DVDs is considered an illegal activity under the DMCA. I am not aware of any tests of this in the courts but it is an area of risk. I only choose to use the main feature of the DVD preferring to have more main features then less complete...

I chased down a number of problems with viper. Here is a link ( http://fnu.iranger.com/viper.tar.gz ) to my binary including my version of allMyMovies.html. It resolves some memory errors as well as off-by-one scroll problems. I have found viper to be a useful front-end for mplay. I wrote some perl ...

It looks like it uses the directory order. That is entries in the directory are normally sorted by ls. See the scandir(3) man page. I verified this by running find dir -print and noticed that the order output by find is the same as the window contents.

Technology (and mass producers) have passed them by, they bungled their obvious technological lead, and now would be playing catchup with dated hardware incapable of meeting the higher expectations that exist in the market these days (DVD playback with menus/subs/etc., DIVX/XVID native support, etc...

They've stated on more than one occassion that the delay is due to switching manufacturing plants. While that may not be the only reason, if you've been keeping up with the SoundBridge Radio delays, it's certainly a feasible one. If they were really planning on discontinuing the PhotoBridge, what w...

I agree this isn't a good sign. I don't understand why Roku doesn't offer any explanation. It leaves everyone flapping in the breeze and is pretty crappy treatment for loyal customers. I guess noone in Roku has any conscience.

ReplayTV support

I have begun to work on a new ReplayTV application. Before I get too far I want to check out a few things. The current ReplaySix seems to have been abandoned. I have recompiled it and it still works for the latest beta OS version. The MPEG player it comes with can also be recompiled and works but it...

That's sweet. Does the program run in the background and will pop up on any other program running (Mplay, etc)? Yes, it is meant to run in the background. I haven't included any scripts to start it so you need to start it from a telnet session for now. I will start mine from the startup scripts ins...

Growl listener application

I put together a simple Growl listener application. Growl is a network notification system for Mac OS X. See http://growl.info for more information. In its current form it will listen for an application named "CID" for caller ID. The caller ID name and number (or whatever is sent in the CID notifica...
