Soundridge freezes whilst off

Thu Apr 14, 2011 4:33 am

Hi all

Whilst in stby my SB is freezing, the digital time stops when the freeze occurs and it then doesn't respond to the remote. Only way to turn on is to remove power and restart.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.

This sometimes occures to me to, once in a while the clock goes behind and the unit does not react on any form of command.
It even sometimes happens while playing, and it continues playing !!!
Only solution I know is power cycling.

If the Sounbridge has an external PSU you should consider replacing it, details for the various models can be found here.

If it is a Soundbridge Radio R1000 model the internal PSU will need repairing.

Although it's always a good idea to check the power supply, I don't think this is a PSU related issue. I have experienced this problem with two M1001s attached to a high-quality Phihong PSU and connected to the network over Wi-Fi. Using a wired ethernet connection resolved the issue for me.

That's interesting, we've just changed broadband suppliers.

Thanks all

My SB is connected by wire and I've had this "sometimes freeze" problem for a log time. But, as it occurs in a very low frequency, like once every 4-8 weeks, I did not relate it to the SB at first ... Now the warranty and support is gone and it is too late !
I whish the source of the code would be available and the community could try to fix it ...

My M2000 does this once in a while, maybe 2-3 times a year, not often enough to be annoying. I've never seen the problem on my M1000, though. Both are connected by Ethernet.

I have three M2000s and they all do this as well, not all that often. I can tell when it happens because they disappear from my network Simply unplugging from the mains and replugging fixes the problem.
