Hi Ed,
welkom bij de Roku forums.
I see a couple of possibilities,
1) Roku is going to fix this issue, make icestreams possible.
That won't happen, as the SoundBridge range of products is EOL (which, as you will know, is the technical expression for "dead as a doornail").
BTW #1: The problem with NPO's stations is not the use of Icecast servers (there are thousands of stations using these), the special kind of redirection and the style of the URLs make the SoundBridges fall over.
The audio URL for 3FM (
http://livestreams.omroep.nl/npo/mp3/3fm-bb.pls) for example resolves to the following four stream URLs
- http://ics2ess.omroep.nl:80/3fm-bb.mp3?q=/npo/mp3/3fm-bb.pls&stream=ok
- http://ics2fss.omroep.nl:80/3fm-bb.mp3?q=/npo/mp3/3fm-bb.pls&stream=ok
- http://ics2hss.omroep.nl:80/3fm-bb.mp3?q=/npo/mp3/3fm-bb.pls&stream=ok
- http://ics2jss.omroep.nl:80/3fm-bb.mp3?q=/npo/mp3/3fm-bb.pls&stream=ok
which obviously puzzle the SoundBridge.
BTW #2: The WMA streams come from a Windows Media Server, not from an Icecast server.
2) Other Dutch users gather here and make themselves known to have a problem with this, the more the better and let the Dutch radiostation know this is a problem.
I strongly doubt that Dutch radio officials monitor these forums, complaining by email might be more effective.
3) Selling the M1001 and moving on to something new (last choice, since generally , i like the soundbridge very much as a streaming device)
There are workarounds that will bring incompatible streams to your SoundBridge, but they require a PC as a "go-between".
Greetings
