Radio Roku Snooper Won't Install

Sat Jul 07, 2012 10:38 am

I have been trying to install Radio Roku Snooper on my Windows 7 64-bit machine for use with my Soundbridge 1001 units.

It keeps erroring out.

Says there is a problem with WinCap 3.1

Solution?

It looks like they haven't updated any of the programs since XP. I had the same problem trying to install it in 32 bit Win7. I didn't think it installed at first but it actually did. When I run it though it doesn't do anything much except say it found the radio and lets me go to it's web page. However, I can already go to the web page if I know the address so the program is pretty useless.

I cant guarantee anything as I have not used Windows 8 yet, but Run as Admin may help the situation:

Netgear WNR2000v2
Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT Firmware acting as Client Bridge
Soundbridge M2000/M500/R1000
Roku 2 XS 3100

It's all in the details

Radio Roku Snooper installed OK for me on Windows 7 but it doesn't do anything useful that I can determine. It seems completely worthless. Has anyone found any use for it? You can do most everything you need by just browsing to the Roku's IP address.

>It seems completely worthless.

It is. A while back it was able to find a few streams, but it hasn't been updated for years and is not likely to find the streams you are most likely listening to. You are better off with Wireshark but it takes some experience to learn how to detect streams.

Not sure what you mean. How can you analyze a stream by browsing the IP address of the Soundbridge?
