M1000 Ethernet dead

Sat Feb 18, 2006 12:30 pm

My M1000's ethernet has died. I bought it in November of 2004, so it is a few months out of warranty. So, I suppose my only option at this point is to buy another one, and there comes the problem. I'm having a hard time convincing my wife that the M1000 is worth $200 a year.

Should this be considered an unusual failure? The Roku has been in the stereo cabinet and not moved, so it wasn't jostled or had the cables yanked.

Are there people out there using ethernet for several years without problems?

There was a manufacturing flaw on some SoundBridge units that caused a failure very similar to that... contact Roku customer service and see what they can do for you.

Mine did the same  For both wifi and ethernet. wifi card had no lights, and ethernet has all lights solid. Anyway, just sent in, and Roku is sending a unit out upon receipt. They will make good on this.

Just to wrap this up. After some initial confusion, my M1000 is being replaced under warranty (even though it is slightly out of warranty). My replacement unit is scheduled to be delivered today.
