Which Radio services apply right now to M1001 ?

Sat Jan 31, 2015 2:31 pm

I understand that Rhapsidy no longer works for M1001, neither Napster or Spotify does .....so which one does work with the Soundbridge ??

As far as I know, there are no subscription music services that work with the SoundBridge. I don't think there ever was. At one point you could play protected music that was downloaded from Napster, Rhapsody and some others, but it never connected to subscription based streams. You can use RadioRoku to find music streams, or enter url's for streams manually. You can also use a product like Jamcast to stream anything that will play on your PC (Rhapsody, Pandora, Spotify, etc) to the SoundBridge.

Via Jamcast you can get direct subscription access to Grooveshark, Spotify, Google Music... use the Virtual Soundcard channel for anything not directly supported. Use the Android app for a very Sonos-like experience with your M1001.

Even still today, the Soundbridge is one of the best streaming devices ever built. You can still get much use out of it using available UPnP/DLNA software like Jamcast. :)

Hi Scott, I've been using Jamcast for the past year and was an original beta tester and it sure has come a long way - great job. Can you explain more about the Android app and if there is an iPhone app coming?

How about Tunein stations? Is there a way to hook them into the Soundbridge?

Dont know about TuneIn but I have a TEAC device connected to vTuner and once you know the assigned ID-numbers for radio stations you can use this IDs which is always like a http://teac.vtuner.com/pls/plsxxxxx.m3u whith 5x being numbers as a preset in your Roku Menue, it is strange but it works fine. These IDs also work of course in every another device I have.

I was excited about the Jamcast idea to access streaming services for the Soundbridge; however, after installing am feeling a little dense. Trying to get Pandora working and cannot even see how to setup in Jamcast. Do you have to have Pandora running on your PC all the time? No documentation for Jamcast! Any help would be appreciated.
