Christian stations?

Mon Jul 04, 2005 10:38 am

I occasionally listen to which is based in Florida. It's funny when you hear their morning traffic reports in the afternoon in the UK :)

Anyway, the ZRadio stream is ASX which means I can't hear it on my SoundBridge. Does anyone know of any Christian stations that are compatible? I'll have a search as well, but I thought I'd ask the question and see if there are any good ideas out there.

Have you tried the Roku / iTunes Track Counter?

Christian Radio Stations

I have found some using and typing in Christian into the search box. Then right click on 'Tune in' and copy shortcut. Then place that into the internet radion stations on the Roku list.

I enjoy listening to - they play lots of worship songs - no chat.

I have also found one called

Let me know if you have found any others.

Hi, is fantastic. My mum lives in Orlando, and she listens to it over the air.

I'm a fan of their Y-Rock internet only station ( links to sister project They play the best Christian rock music.

Anyway, the problem with ZRadio/RadioY/YRock and the Roku is that they use WMA Radio (mms://, Windows Media Player), instead of ShoutCast.

So I've been listening to Y-Rock from my computer ... and on the Roku.

But ... I just discovered a post here today, which allowed me to install another server that converts WMA Radio on the fly into a format the Roku can handle. See this thread:

I added RadioY/YRock into that server's ProgrammingGuide.xml, and I'm listening to it via the Roku Soundbridge now! All in all, it took me about 10 minutes to get it setup.

The only trick is that you need to know the "mms://" address of the radio stream ... not the ".asx" file.

If you listen to, then YRock is probably a bit heavy for you.

So, I'll tell you how to get the regular Z88.3 stream. If you launch the player on your computer, do a right click/view source, and then scan the file for "mms://" links. The Low/Medium/High links for Z88.3/ are:

Christian radio stations

The main reason I bought my soundbridge (this week) was to listen to KSBJ in Houston on my stereo. I've missed it since I moved out of that area and occasionally listen to it on my computer but it just doesn't sound as good. I wasn't able to listen to it until I got the beta version of 2.5, but it seems to work great with it.

K-LOVE station?

Sat Dec 17, 2005 4:37 pm

Thanks people. ZRadio and KSBJ are great!

Has anyone been able to get the address for the stream of K-LOVE station? They have a larget list of affiliate stations but all their play options point to the website's Listen Online link. And, it starts its own play window using WMP plug-in. I wrote them and they said that they don't support .apx. Is that possible? If I can listen to it via the WMP plug-in, they must have the stream address that we can play on ROKU, wouldn't they?

My wife loves to listen to their broadcast and the over-the-air signal of their station near us is really bad in my house.

Thanks and Merry CHRISTmas to all.

ZRadio and RadioY new streams

Wed Jan 11, 2006 11:10 am

Hi All,

Was browsing around, trying to determine why we experienced a recent flux of internet listening, when I happened across this board. I wanted to offer some information which might be helpful.

If you enjoy listening to Zradio or RadioY we recently added two new streaming formats (essentially one, but it plays on two platforms). Hopefully this will help you listen with your Roku.

The quicktime link is the format iTunes uses. We have sent our application for listing but have yet to receive a response.

And lastly, help us keep our streaming costs down by turning off the radio when you aren't listening :)
