A number of radio stations that I listen have stopped working via my Soundbridges, although they still stream via my PC and other streaming devices I have. Four of these stations are from the same broadcaster:
• Radio Bop
• Radio Bop 60s
• Roots of Rock.US
• Radio Swing Worldwide
Taking Roots of Rock.US as an example, this is my understanding of the current situation after testing. The old link which no longer works is http://community.loudcity.com/player/rootsofrock-us/asx.asx?max_bitrate=1000
I have investigated the following:
• The radio station’s web site rootsofrock.us/ no longer works. It returns the message “This account has been suspended for being in direct violation of our term and conditions” from ad.fly.”
• The radio station still streams from Loud City using this link but the way it operates has changed. http://loudcity.com/stations/rootsofrock-us
It offers the station via five players:
• Web Player
• iTunes
• Windows Media Player
• Real Player
• WinAmp
All five options stream the radio station on my PC, except iTunes because it is not installed. However, only Windows Media returns a Soundbridge Supported URL using Radio Snooper.
This is an example URL: http://loudcity.com/launch/?file=asx&id=1055&playid=6253201201190429431055
Whilst I can play this URL on a Soundbridge and save it as a Pre-Set, it is not a permanent solution, as it has a limited life of less than 24 hours. I presume that &playid= is for a limited time session.
Googling reveals that this radio station is still streaming from a number of sources, but none of them produce a Soundbridge Supported URL. Examples include:
o ShoutCast.com
o RadioShaker.com
o http://rootsofrockus.rad.io/
I had a similar problem with The Doo Wop Express but the new URL that I found was Soundbridge compatible and it was not time limited.
Has anyone got any ideas as to how to find a Soundbridge Supported URL for these stations that works over time?
Many Thanks
Bruven
