I'm still wondering if anyone knows how this works?

Maybe you could ask the guy who runs it, Ziggy ziggy@xm411.com or the guy who does technical work for him, Ed Keefe. Ed doesn't list and email address, but maybe you could reach him at ekeefe@xm411.com. Unfortunately, the author of the XStreamXM program, Jeremy, does not publish his email address, either.

Take a look at these threads:

This works incredibly well! I LOVE having XM in the living room -- it really makes my subscription worthwhile. Now I can listen to the same stations I have in the car.

Thanks for the tip. Regardless of the mechanism of action, I hope it keeps working!

Still working?

Is this link still working? (I have tried the link in the first message in this string on my SB500 (v. 2.5.174) both with and without the space and the SB is unable to tune the station.)

I was the original person posting the question and I have found that it sometimes works and sometimes does not. Don't know why.

I read somewhere (maybe FatWallet) about a 2 week free trial instead of the 3 day. I bet a whole bunch of people signed up recently. Just a guess, though.

Well, the xmplayer at their site works... I think it is the xstreamxm interface... I can't find anyway to inform xstreamxm site...

I have used the url mentioned earlier in this thread (http://www.xstreamxm.com/mobile/stream. ... speed=high) to stream XM, unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. :( Anyone have any insight?

Thanks!

Just be patient..it takes almost, or over a minute to load...it'll just sit there displaying the Name you've given your link (LiquidMetal, in my case :P ), and finally kick in. Be patient.
Then as it was, then again it will be

wideasleep1,

Yes...you are absolutely correct. It takes a while. I just hadn't waited long enough. It seems it takes much longer than it used to to get going. In any event, I guess the saying "patience is a virtue" holds true yet again.

Thanks for the help,
Steve

I too have been having difficulty getting XM on the Roku. I believe that it is due to traffic on the xstreamxm.com site. They have put out their own software that allows playing XM on the PC easily. I have tried the software and it works fast. But it may be taking priority over those of use logging into Xstreamxm the old way.

I think that Roku is timing out too fast and then retrying. Is it possible to instruct the Roku to wait longer before timing out?
