Needed on server
ffmpeg, sshd running, tivodecode, curl

install from package or compile ffmpeg, sshd, and curl
tivodecode binary can be obtained as part of the kmtg package or from source http://tivodecode.sourceforge.net/ & http://code.google.com/p/kmttg/

Needed on your roku
mplay

Instructions

• download the tgz file http://www.tulane.edu/~ntuc/tivoroku.tgz, unpack on your linux share which is accessible to the roku
• telnet to your roku and navigate to tivoroku/bin
• inside this directory run ./ssh-keygen –t rsa
• hit return when promted for a passkey. It takes a while (did for me) but creates a public key for you. Copy that to your server’s
~/.ssh/authorized_keys
file by
• [code]cat /home/root/.ssh/id_rsa.pub |./ssh user@server_ip “cat >> .ssh/authorized.keysâ€

James, very cool. Unfortunatly I dont have a linux box (besides the Roku and the Tivo) :-)

It should be possible using cygwin under windows. I only have xp so I can't speak for vista.
There are binaries for ffmpeg, curl, and tivodecode for windows. Setting up up sshd should be possible. I'll take a look.

a ps I am close to a working version for windows too using cygwin ....

things are on hold right now as I am moving house...I can't remember how far I got, but I think it did work. I will be closing at the end of the month and then have some work to do before getting set up again.
