Hello world app for Roku

Tue Nov 22, 2005 8:24 pm

Ok,

I've downloaded and moutned the cramfs volume on my Red Hat box... Now, I'd like to try and crawl before I sprint and write a brief 'Hello world' app.

Can anyone give me a 1000 feet instructions on how to build an app?

I've takena quick look but don't seem to be able to find much of any use.

Thanks

Andrew

Andrew, I know zilch about writing Roku apps but would suggest you write your post in the Cascade forum, as that is where most posts related to creating apps for the PB go.

It's pretty rare that a post actually pops up in that forum and when it does the "devs" of the Roku world are usually pretty quick to respond.

In this forum (third party apps) things are bound to get lost pretty quick.

Cheers!

Steve

The 1.5.18 SDK available on the Developers page (http://www.rokulabs.com/developers/) has a document with a pretty decent HelloWorld tutorial to get you started. Unfortunately, you have to download the 30+meg 1.5.18 cramfs file with it.

Thanks for the info... I've managed to get the doc downloaded and am thinking that I now have some bedtime reading... (so sad)...

Thanks to everyone for making up for my poor searching abilities...
