If they are iTunes music store files than no, I don't think you can play them to anything other than your Mac and iPod  ...

I thought it was too easy for it to work. After a bit of reading it appears that you need to burn cd to mp3 then copy it back. Then the photobridge can play it. I will give that a try....

PS: Burning to audio cd format with itunes, then importing it back into itunes as an mp3 works fine. Would be a nice step to avoid. Also would be nice to have a higher quality than 128K..... but it does work at least.

By the way, I believe this is not the case with the SoundBridge because Roku was able to get Apple licensing for that product line. They have stated in previous posts that they wanted very much to include the same capability in the PhotoBridge but Apple refused to license it. Roku even encouraged users to petition Apple on their behalf.

Try tis:

It will convert the m4p to m4a so they can be played on the PB.

I was looking at that tool as well. It appears that you need to use a version of itunes less than version 6. Is that still available? Or can this tool work with v 6 of itunes? That would be much easier. It seems crazy to try to find ways to play music you have purchased on the devices we want.....--Darin

The problem with jhymn and iTunes 6 is that songs purchased with iTunes 6 can't be converted - songs purchased with earlier verions of iTunes work just fine. Of course, Apple won't let you purchase anything with previous versions of iTunes..
