I am streaming my PAL dvd collecion over my roku hd1000.
For 1,85:1 (in 16/9) movies the aspect ratio is correct!
but for 2,35:1 (in 16/9) is not!!! --- it diplays 1,85:1.
for 1,85:1 (non-anamorphic!)---it diplays 4:3.
i wonder why mplay do not display the correct aspect Ratio!?
it seems the roku cut off left & right side of the pictures?
it is Pan/scan!
I edited the ifo-files with ifoedit! it didn´t work!
What can i do?
Have anyone the same problem?....

Press the "rotate" button on the remote while you are in MPLay playback, and you can choose from 1 of 6 different aspect ratio outputs.

It works only with NTSC DVD´s.
Pal DVD´s are not in the correct Format!
Why? I have an europe HD1000 (50/60Hz) modell!
Pall dvds are displayed in pan/scan!
on 2,35:1 movies ---> i get 1:1,85 movies!
How can i deactivating this modus?

It seems you found your answer. The DVDs you are looking at have pan-and-scan info in them and the HD1k uses that. It is out of Mplay's control, other than parsing the stream myself.
There is no option in IFOEdit or DVDDecrypter that will help. You have to keep waiting for Roku to get their act together and fix it.

i think it is not the pan/scan from dvd.
It is for Pal HD-ts Files,too. and they have no P/S information!
so it is the pal version of the roku!
