FWIW, I had iTunes 7.0.2.16 already on my WinXP system, and I decided to try it as a server for my M1001. I have not had any issues yet. It took iTunes awhile to build its database of my 11000+ files (getting album information, etc.), but after that, iTunes starts up in about 10 seconds on my test server.
The Roku found it right away and seems to be able to browse pretty quickly.
Thanks for the link. I should have mentioned that I use iTunes on Mac (yep I finally switched a year ago, now there's no way I'd ever want to go back).
After looking around on the Apple support forum site, it looks like most of the problems are on Windows.
But as you said, it's probably best to wait. iTunes 7.5.1 can't be far off.
I'm using iTunes 7.5 on my Macs here (3 of them, all Intel running 10.4.10) with no problems at all. Also, my Soundbridge (M1001, latest beta firmware, connected wirelessly) is working fine with iTunes 7.5.
Thanks for your reply. I have now installed iTunes 7.5 and everything is working just fine, no problems with my Roku units at all. (Currently running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.1)
