Hulu "Plus" ?? not really

Tue Nov 30, 2010 2:52 pm

I'd be satisfied if Hulu PLUS was actually Hulu PLUS something. Instead, it is Hulu minus a LOT and plus a little. If it is watchable on Hulu, you must have it on Hulu Plus, or you need to find another name. Hulu light would be a more appropriate name.

I agree completely... Also, I'd pay triple to have no commercials and the full library!

I just want regular Hulu access, I don't see $8 monthly value in the Plus over Hulu regular.

Are you saying that Hulu Plus on the Roku has LESS content than Hulu free on a PC?

Yes, Hulu Plus have less content than Hulu in the web. :(

I dont mind the commercials because I know that those commercials help subsidize the cost of subscription and keep it low, but what I cant take is the limited content. I feel shortchanged with Hulu Plus because I get less than the Hulu in the web. I agree, they should rename this "Hulu Lite".

This really has nothing to do with Roku. I suggest your complaints about the Hulu+ service be submitted at the Hulu website.

"I dont mind the commercials" I say bull. If I pay anything it should be without commercials. HULU is the one that set the price not me. If they need to charge more then charge it. Don't make me look stupid for paying $7.95 and give me less content and same amount of commercials. OMG same commercials over and over again makes me NOT want to buy that product.

The great thing is that no one has to add the Hulu Plus channel if they don't want it.

Even better, you can return your Roku before 30 days.

Just ordered a Roku unit and am curious about this post. Are you saying the only Hulu you can view through Roku is Plus? You cannot access the basic Hulu?

All I got was the Plus and was way less content then what I get on my P.C. and with just as many commercials if not more. This is not Roku's fault it is Hulu being greedy.

I wish a software guru could find an easy way to stream your main computer on the Roku through hls, or whatever it is. Then there wouldn't be any issues - if it isn't easily available on a Roku channel, just fire up your computer and spout it out onto the TV. I do this with the Roksbox program and a small webserver so I can watch .wmv and .mp4 files on the roku. Neat and easy setup. I still haven't found an easy way yet (on linux here).
