No video with Lexicon DC-1 Digital Controller

Thu Dec 30, 2010 8:28 pm

Can get audio but no video when hooking Roku up thru Lexicon controller
(Roku works fine when directly attached to a recent LCD TV)
but can't get video when going thru Lexicon DC-1 to older Pioneer plasma tv
Have tried substituting for older VCR that does have audio and video--Roku gets audio but no video
tried connecting Roku to front side of VCR again get audio but no video
have tried direct connect to TV jacks on Lexicon--audio no video (both rca and toslink cables give audio)
tried multiple video cables that are known to work and no luck
Any chance Comcast could be jamming to prevent competition?
Anyone use some ancient but much loved technology successfully??

Couldn't you remove any comcast equipment to see if it's conflicting?
I'd say you're probably misconfiguring the audio and video input configuration - PDF page 21

by comcast equipment, I'd be meaning your comcast DVR or Cable TV box - not a modem (obviously)

it appears that the Lexicon has defective rca video input (tested with a vcr that works ok with s-video
tried an rca to s-video adapter and lexicon wouldn't process it
tried direct connect to the pioneer plasma--s-video adapter gave a lot of shadows to objects, rca worked fine (finally, have seen the Roku logo on screen!)
now am challenged by the limited inputs to the ancient plasma--have ordered a Roku Component Cable and BNC adapters to try tp attach to the plasma--wish me luck...

That's terrible news. :( From the looks of things it seems like a really high quality device. Good luck.
