Extended memory?

For users who don't use wireless networking, how about using the WI-FI slot for some sort of memory expansion? This might accomodate those who have huge collections.

If you search for this, you can already use the CF slot for music libraries....

Either drop a bunch of mp3 files on a CF card without an index, or create an index file. Either way, it works.

Yes, I had read about that before, but what I am getting at is the problem with the Soundbridge running out of memory when it is loading a huge list of songs (say 10k).

Sorry, the CF slot can't be used as you would like.

It doesn't necesarily need to be used directly as RAM.

Couldn't a CF memory card be used as a temporary place to store the entire index and then just page in the segments of the index as needed?

Simple matter of software. And it's not going to happen, sorry. Plus it wouldn't be much faster than the network, really.

I know the CF card won't be faster than the network...

...but folks with large collections might not get errors.
