changing color of display

Sun Sep 04, 2005 2:04 pm

do you have any foil (transmissable film) for changing the color
of the display?
or point me to any vendor, selling useable foils?

I have seen, there is a small space between the display and the front glass, where you could put in a colored foil (blue, yellow, red etc.) for changing the
color of the display

I guess it depends on the colour of the VFD itself... if it were bright white, then you could do this, but if it's already got a tint of some colour, then it will be mighty hard to change this to any colour you choose...

Actually that's wrong. The Empeg car player has a green VFD as well and it was originally sold with a choice of colored filters to chage the color of the display. As long as the brightness level is high enough, then it will work just fine. Check out the Empeg/Rio Car forums and do a search for "lenses" for more info if you wish...
