Multi Library support

Fri Sep 23, 2005 9:47 am

I would like to see Multi library support.

I that way I can have a Popular library and a Classical library
And intependent genres for eachone..

Popular (Rock, Pop, Electronic, R&B, Hip-Hop, etc)
Classical (Classical, Barroque, Operas, Renacentintist, Medieval, etc)

i think it is more easy to use that way.

Thanks

This functionality depends on the server side, not the SoundBridge side, but I know what you mean - it would be helpful.

But to clarify my point, I use both Rhapsody and WMC as servers and my Soundbridge can switch very quickly and easily between them.

I'm not even sure how any server software could help solve your issue unless you could run multiple instances of the same software but just have them pointing at different shared folders. But then again, you'd have to separate out your folder hiearchy to make this happen.

I think what would be more helpful (in my opinion) is to allow for a multi-tiered data tag on your music files. Right now all tags are one dimensional for each attribute, but if you could have a hiearchy for each attribute then it would be very powerful.

Exactly.

I love Rhapsody. I use it mainly for discovering new music. If I like it, then I go buy the actual CD somewhere and rip it to my HDD in a lossless format so that I can pure playback quality on my SoundBridge. That's the downside to Rhapsody - the files are streamed around 160kps whereas lossless files are streamed at a quality that replicates the CD. Not a big deal to most, but once you start hearing the difference you can't ignore it.

That would work out perfectly.
