Problem streaming from Winamp to Soundbridge

Fri May 09, 2008 7:45 am

Hi,
My new Soundbridge works great except that I am unable to stream from Winamp to the Soundbridge (version 3.0.44) on my private WiFi network. I can access internet radio. I have installed the Shoutcast server and the Winamp Shoutcast plugin. Winamp appears to be broadcasting to localhost on port 8000. The Soundbridge cannot locate the Winamp stream. I have installed Roku Radio Snooper and it doesn't find any stream. I do not have my stream listed at Shoutcast. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi rokuuuser,

welcome to the forums.

Try this as a preset on your Soundbridge

http://IP.OF.YOUR.PC:8000/listen.pls

and make sure your firewall and/or antivirus software doesn't block incoming requests on port 8000.

Thanks to both of you. The issue was, I wasn't specifying the IP address of the computer that was doing the streaming. I had tried evey other IP address I could find. The hint was from dupondt IP.OF.YOUR.PC. Every other post I had read simply said YOUR.IP.

It works great now.
