Just installed jamcast. Started playing some tunes in Spotify. Went downstairs and my Soundbridge was displaying my jamcast username as an option to link to. I selected that and my spotify tunes started playing through my Soundbridge. How easy is that!!!!
First of all I installed Jamcast, but had trouble configuring it, so I posted a thread on their forum and their techie Scott was brilliant with instant help. It then turned out I didn't have Stereo Mix available on my soundcard driver but Scott pointed me to http://www.notebookforums.com/thread199898.html and that thread gave detailed instructions on hacking my registry, which works a treat!
Hi, I have downloaded Jamcast and I am trying to get my soundbridge working with spotify, my soundbridge is picking up Jamcast and playing my tunes but it wont play anything when you select the Virtual soundcard ?
I have looked at the setting on the volume control and thay all seem to be fine any ideas folks ??
PS I am not the most technical chap in the world but will have a go at any sugestions
Once you have selected the Virtual Soundcard device you have to press Play (>) again on the remote.
Alternatively you may have a sound controller that does not work with Jamcast, see their website for supported devices. The Jamcast engineer is very helpful if you post a problem on that forum.
and follow my instructions on that page. I think this is still as good as it gets for Mac users streaming in this manner. Probably the only thing that's changed significantly since I wrote them is the way Mac OS handles ports (changes from 10.4 to 10.5). If you reach a stumbling block let me know as I was streaming from Spotify not so long ago without any issues.
