Soundbridge doesn't like Premium stations?

Wed Jan 13, 2010 7:41 am

I use two Soundbridge devices (M1001) and have set DI Premium stations as presets. My SB's connect promptly to any preset except for the DI premium stations. It sometimes takes over 60 tries to connect, which eventually it always does. I have no problems with DI Premium on my pc with either the VLC player or Screamer-Radio.
I contacted DI and they say that as long as I use the right username:password in the url's the problem must be Roku's. Any idea anyone?

It may be that those presets still have a Radio Roku ID attached, and the Soundbridge is trying the streams associated with it before timing out to use yours. Try saving the station when it does play as a preset again, overwriting itself. Or remove the preset in the web interface, save the list, then re add your station as a manual preset.

I use the url's I copied from the DI-site and typed them in in the web interface. I tried your trick anyway, but no effect.

Thanks anyway for the advice.

The non-Premium DI-stations play without a hitch. But if it had to do with credentials I wouldn't get in at all, no matter how many tries.
Very nice to have you thinking along.

I see they offer different formats, which do you use?
Are you using the latest Soundbridge firmware, I suggest you upgrade to the beta v3.0.52.

I am using the 256k stream, but downsizing to 128k doesn't solve the problem. And, I am afraid to say, the upgrade to 3.0.52.0 hasn't done the trick either.

I had visited that forum, I'm afraid the dicussion there is a bit outdated. Sounbridge as well as the DI site have undergone many changes since then. The IP address that comes after the username:password depends on your 'geo-location', the part of the world you're at. Besides that DI mailed the url's to me twice because I kept nagging. Nevertheless I have triend other geo-locations but they either render the same IP address or simply don't work.
Thanks again for your effort.

You should post your problem on the DI premium forum, there may be other Soundbridge users on there that could help.

Miraculously, since about a week the problem seems to have been solved. Premium stations come through perfectly!
I don't know who to thank because Roku never answered any of my messages.

Nothing will have changed at the Soundbridge end (the product is no longer supported by Roku), so it must be thanks to DI for whatever they changed.
