Compatability with Cocktail Audio X10

Wed Mar 14, 2012 11:14 am

When I bought my Cocktail Audio X10 recently and saved all my CDs to it, I was hoping to be able to stream my music collection to my Pinnacle Soundbridge Radio. Although it shows the entire catalogue on screen there is a cross beside each item and it will not play them. There is no problem playing any of these items on the Pinnacle when saved on my PC.

Any solutions please?

Hi Orchidene,

welcome to the forums.

Which format did you use to rip your CDs with the Cocktail Audio? The SoundBridge will only play MP3 and possibly WAV, but not FLAC or OGG.

Thanks for the reply.

Most of the tracks are WAV but I have also tried some mp3. They have the musical note symbol rather than a cross but then fail to play.

I have no problem playing WAV or mp3 from my computer so it seems to be a compatability issue with the Cocktail Audio X10.

Regards

If the X10 has ripped the tracks at a very high bit rate, then they may not be reliably streamed through the Soundbridge's "b" mode wifi connection. See if it is possible to adjust the ripping bit rate on the X10 or perhaps you could copy a working MP3 from your PC to the X10 media server and try that.

Thanks for the suggestion - some of the cds on the X10 were actually ripped on the pc and they produce the same result.
