Soundbridge Radio preventive maintenance?

Mon Nov 02, 2009 9:10 am

I've got a SB radio and so far, has performed beautifully. It's two-year warranty is up in February, 2010 and after reading all the SB Radio threads with bad power supplies, is there anything I can do to prevent any future PSU issues?
Current Setup:
(2) M1001, Roku Radio, Apple iTunes , 2TB of storage, ASUS WAP

Hi cymbaline65, please confirm if your R1000 radio has a "sticker" on the bottom of the unit that informs you 'not to remove the sticker' :?:

If it has such a sticker-label then you have one of the 'modified' units that allegedly do not give the typical PSU problems . . . .
However, there have been some cases in these forums that have reported failures of such units that do have this sticker-label

Thanks for the quick response, alanmc...
Nope, no "do not remove me" sticker on the bottom. Not sure if this helps you but the s/n is: R1000UH6D000277

I have an R1000 with the warranty sticker. It failed just after one year after the warranty expired with the classic power supply failure symptoms. I have given up with Roku and sent it for repair this week to g0pkh.

I'm sending in my old M1000 (4yrs old) to Matt here in the states for repair. He seems to have a good reputation and he is very reasonable. My problem is that I love the products and as the prices have gone down, am still considering purchase of another radio as they will be extinct next year....

Hi cymbaline65, you can be sure that my good friend Burkhardi will do a first-class job on your R1000 radio.

Matt and I frequently exchange emails, and if you've read several of his posts to these forums it is easy to recognise that he's a guy who enjoys helping people.

Cheers, Alan
