Streaming 128 kbps with Soundbridge M400

Thu Feb 11, 2010 2:07 pm

Dear All,

I am new to this so hope this makes sense. I have two Soundbridge M400 units in my network which I have been using with no problems to stream internet radio from France here in the UK for several years. Recently one of my stations (Europe 1) disappeared & I had a quick look on listenlive.eu to find a new stream for this. There are a couple available but neither seems to work with the Soundbridges. However one works when just streaming straight through the PC. This is on a 128 kbps and has URL http://webradio.europe1.fr/V4/europe1/europe1.m3u. I have also tried to get Radio Roku to play what I guess is the same stream on my Soundbridges without success. I am guessing there may be something I am missing here. Does anyone know if my M400's can play a stream like this & if not, if there is a firmware upgrade that would allow this to happen.

Thanks,

Alan

Hi Alan,

welcome to the forums.

It looks as though the 128k stream of Europe1 no longer exists. The URL you posted opens the Flash based web player and thus does not work on the SoundBridge.

You can put http://vipicecast.yacast.net/europe1 into one of your Presets. This is a 64 kbps stream which plays on the SoundBridge.

Greetings

Hi dupondt,

Thanks for your help with this. This URL works fine on our Soundbridges.

Cheers,

Alan
