Hi - I've just seen this listing on Ebay - wanted to ask if anyone had see this or used this service before?

I have an R1000 that is now dead - wondering whether to try and repair it myself or send it away to them.
I'm no electronics wizard so a bit unsure about doing it myself.

Being an electronics geek, I would probably be tempted to fix it myself. Otherwise, personally, I would feel more comfortable having it fixed by somebody local. Or if you know somebody that is good with a soldering iron, there are a number of good threads talking about the different methods folks have used to bring there R1000s back to life. I like option #3.

If you decide to go with ebay, and If you haven't already, I would recommend reading as much as possible on the forum threads about the issues before you send it out for repair. And I also would make sure that all of the weak components will be replaced, so the repair will last for a good while.

Hi - Many thanks for the responses.
I've managed to successfully repair the power supply myself - I went for the external power-adapter method.
It now powers-up and works!!!

Unfortunately since the repair I've discovered the Sub-woofer is no-longer working too good.
It comes to life at high volume, but with a buzzing sound - I guess this means its damaged and I'll need to replace it also.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement sub-woofer? I'm based in the UK.
