Transam,

as most stations nowadays use Flash for their website players programmes like Roku Radio Snooper or similar software are no longer of any use. Stations, however, that want you to know the stream URLs usually publish them on their website.

Using a packet sniffer like Wireshark might help in many cases but finding the URLs in the massive amount of data these sniffers collect can be tedious.

Your best choice therefore is to have a look at the stations' websites (sometimes examining the HTML code of the player page will be helpful) or search for the stations in directories like Radio Roku, vTuner or RadioFeeds.

If all you need is a handful of stream URLs please feel free to post the stations' names here and I'll see what I can do.

Greetings

WOW, thanks for the info, I wondered why rokuradiosniffer wasnt doing anything for me on any streams at all I figured it was windows or something was messed up in my windows ;(.... O well that totally sucks....
ok well a few more than 2-3 (lol) If and when you have the time Id really appreciate it :).... Ill even list a few of the same station's (url's) its actually 8 stations but Ive given TWO links in case some dont work(see below)...
Some I did the roku radio search and had wrote down EXACTLY the URL and ive also got a Logitech Transporter and some of their streams dont work on it so I need the actual URL's below... (TAKE YOUR TIME) I appreciate so much what you are doing in your free time !:) .

p.s... as You can see I listen to the UK A Lot and I see your over that way (EU)!!

Thanks again so much for your explanation that most use flash and its really difficult (wireshark).. I appreciate it...
Hope ya had a good weekend.. ok I guess I have to post this in TWO messages as the max URL's is 10 in the forum ;(...

Hi Transam,

that was quite easy - most of these stations have correct entries in Radio Roku.

KBIG 104.3 FM Los Angeles, CA ("104.3 MyFM"): http://kbig-fm.akacast.akamaistream.net/7/244/19770/v1/auth.akacast.akamaistream.net/kbig-fm
KYSR 98.7 FM Los Angeles, CA ("ALT 98.7"): http://kysr-fm.akacast.akamaistream.net/7/410/19778/v1/auth.akacast.akamaistream.net/kysr-fm
KIIS 102.7 FM Los Angeles, CA: http://kiis-fm.akacast.akamaistream.net/7/572/19773/v1/auth.akacast.akamaistream.net/kiis-fm

KRTH 101.1 FM Los Angeles, CA ("K-Earth 101"): http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/KRTHFM.pls*
KRTH 101.1 HD2 Los Angeles, CA ("K-Earth Classics"): http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/KRTHHD2.pls*
KCBS 93.1 FM Loas Angeles, CA ("93.1 Jack FM"): http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/KCBSFM.pls*

Absolute 60s: http://stream.absoluteradio.gslb.liquidcompass.net/ABSOLUTE60SIRMP3
Absolute 70s: http://stream.absoluteradio.gslb.liquidcompass.net/ABSOLUTE70SIRMP3

Stations marked with a * should be correct but I can't check them as they're geo-locked and only play in the USA.

Thanks for the FAST Reply, I just copy n pasted all of em !! :)

3 Of em I couldnt get to play on the device (KYSR,KRTH HD2,KIIS), and only 1 of them played on my computer (the kearth hd2).....

Think you could try these streams of the same 3 ?

This is the only URL I can find for KEARTH HD2 Los Angeles
http://player.radio.com/listen/station/k-earth-classics

KIIS FM LosAngeles
http://streema.com/radios/play/12979

KYSR Los Angeles:
http://streema.com/radios/play/13336

for some reason the TWO that end in the .fm dont wanna work
they wont even open with VLC :(

Im surprised im seeing a LOT of GEO Locked ! ALL of Absolute Radio UK is that way luckily there are a lot of 3rd party sites that restream :)
let me know what ya think on the 3 above, thanks again !:)

Transam,

KIIS 102.7 FM Los Angeles, CA (Radio Roku ID 12548) plays A/OK on my SoundBridges as well as in XMPlay, VLC and WMP.
KYSR 98.7 FM Los Angeles, CA (Radio Roku ID 12417) plays A/OK on my SoundBridges as well as in XMPlay, VLC and WMP.

As I wrote I can't check KRTH (FM & HD2) and KCBS as these CBS stations are geo-locked.

BTW: The URLs you posted aren't stream URLs but links to player pages and therefore won't work on devices or in software players.

Transam,

Radio Roku moderator FrankB who is in the USA was so kind as to check the three CBS stations. This is what he reports:

KRTH 101.1 FM Los Angeles, CA (Radio Roku ID 14903) plays on the SoundBridge.
KCBS 93.1 FM Los Angeles, CA (Radio Roku ID 14839) plays on the SoundBridge.
KRTH 101.1 HD2 Los Angeles, CA (Radio Roku ID 42301) does not play on the SoundBridge.

I DO have JACK FM LA Working (93.1)

Your correct that KRTH HD 2 isnt working on roku (just works on the pc)

Also Can not get KIIS 102.7 Working (KISS FM LA)
and cant get KYSR (ALT 98.5) LA Working either ;(

Is it possible to get the URL from that 3rd party streaming service STREEMA.COM ? for the last 2 ?

Station aggregators like Streema, Radio Roku, Tunein or vTuner don't offer alternate audio URLs, they use the original stream addresses and sometimes simply embed the station's player page (which for example is the case for KIIS on Streema).

Both KIIS and KYSR play on my SoundBridges using the URLs listed in Radio Roku; the problem might therefore be on your end.
