uNSLUng 6.8 with Firefly svn-1433; upgrade Firefly to?

Fri May 30, 2008 7:56 am

It's been quite a while since hacking my SLUG and installing Firefly. I have my setup at work today which gives me access to a Linux guy. I'm wondering if I should be upgrading to a new version of Firefly? Things have been working fairly well over the last 1-1/2 years, so maybe I should leave well enough alone?

My music library is in FLAC and I have a ROKU M2000. The only thing I'd like to do is make playlists, but I don't know how to do it.

well, 1586 is the flavour of choice at the moment and would be worth moving up to.

You can create playlists using MediaMonkey or similar and export them as .m3u files.
You'll have to turn on the playlist section of Firefly and place the .m3u files in the directory specified as the music library location in Firefly.

Just curious... when will the next version of Firefly be released? I see it is still in B1 status here. I understand that nightlies are being released fairly regularly. Has the next release to Beta 1 been abandoned for upgrades through nightlies from now on?
