Firefly won't start on iMac under OSX 10.5.3

Tue Jun 03, 2008 10:14 pm

The Preference Pane brings up the Unable to get Firefly server status message, meaning that the Start button remains dimmed. Using a short shared name (Firefly) but no luck.

Anyone using it successfully under 10.5.3?

did you open up a port through the firewall as well? what version of firefly are you using? I don't use 10.5 myself as yet but I think you should be ok with svn.1586. get it here:

http://nightlies.fireflymediaserver.org/version.php?version=svn-1586

bear in mind also there is a bug in the Mac version of firefly that causes it to hang on initial startup. Let it run a while then stop & restart the server and you should find that firefly then runs fine.
G5, OS X 10.5.8, 3 x M1000, iTunes 10.4, slimserver 6.2.1/alienbbc (now redundant), firefly svn 1586, uNSLUng 6.8
