I have 18000 odd Flac tracks on my tranquil WHS. Use SB 1001. Using Firefly SVN-1586. Recently noticed a problem which I can only assume to be Firefly. I have on my HD an artist with 2 seperate albums, (eg Album1 & Album 2). However when I search for the artist it shows 2 entries of the same artist & they both show only album 1????? If I search for Album 2 under Search Albums it shows up OK. Any suggestions???

I also use a Squeezebox & this problem does not occur!

This will sound like a dumb response but it is a baseline troubleshooting step-- have you tried doing a complete Firefly rescan to see whether the problem recurs?

Another possible cause: some minor tagging error in the artist and/or album tags. Take an exacting look at your tags for everything by that artist.

-> I have used MP3tag for quite a long time and like it. But for more careful work, I strongly recommend MediaMonkey. An added help is that MediaMonkey also builds a SQLlite database.

In a case like this it could be an odd trailing character that you may not notice in some tagging programs or some minor difference that eluded you. Maybe SQLlite treats it as significant but SqueezeCenter doesn't?

Use tag & Rename! Chercked & Double checked artist etc.
Did FULL rescan of files.

Prob still occurs!

I'm not sure if this applies to WHS (but worth a shot...)

Is there anything in the Recycle Bin? I know that under XP, FireFly sees files in the recycle bin as still available and will keep them in the database.

All files are where they should be on the disk. There are no music files in Recycle Bin!

Any Debug output to look at from the log? That is where I go look when I see issues. Use a high debug level.

You've got corrupted metadata in the music files or corrupted files.
You're lucky that Firefly is not crashing because of it.

I counted at least six files with an "¿" in the path name

I suggest you try different tagging software.

Renamed all xx - ¿¿¿¿.flac files & changed metdata track names on these files. All OK now!!!

Strange how it showed up the album with the xx - ¿¿¿¿.flac files but not the other album by the same artist? I would have expected the album with xx - ¿¿¿¿.flac files NOt to have shown!
