I have for a long time successfully runned firefly media server in Mac OS X 10.6. When i recently updated to OS X 10.7 Lion I am not able to start the Firefly server anymore.
I have tried to reinstall it without any success.

Please help me.

Hi cyberduck,

welcome to the forums.

I have for a long time successfully runned firefly media server in Mac OS X 10.6.

How did you manage to make Firefly work on 10.6? As you will see in this thread several people including myself can't get it to work on Snow Leopard, so help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Firefly is running extremely well on Snow Leopard. However, that goes for Firefly-svn-1586 only. Other (newer) builts I've tried didn't work.

I've got the same problem on Lion. I've had the server up once, but accessing it from the SoundBridge was rather instable. Also, the webinterface at http://localhost:1024/index.html shows a 404. Does anybody know a running built for Lion (and where to get it)?

PS: I really like my SoundBridge, but sadly it seems Roku isn't putting in any effort to keep it alive.

UPDATE: I got Firefly running on Lion(!). De-installed Firefly-svn-1586, tried Firefly-svn-1696 (which I never got to run, even on Snow Leopard), deinstalled Firefly-svn-1696 and installed Firefly-svn-1586 once again. Voilá, it's running, serving 33,000 files. The webinterface is buggy as usual (only do a single parameter change in the configuration at a time, save, do the next...), but once it's up, it's pretty solid.

So, I don't think you would have to install 1696 in between. There must have been a glitch the first time around w/ 1586.

Hi,

I would like to know whether one of you kept the "Firefly-svn-1696" .dmg file or even better the source code?
Thank you in advance.
