firefly and external usb enclosure

Sun Dec 11, 2011 8:39 am

I reckon I'd come here for help. I've installed firefly music server.

It config file expects the music to me in /home/media/music

I have my music on a usb hard drive.

Nothig that I've done, including, issuing the "mount" command, tracking the enclosure and putting that infor in firefly 's config file works.

Here's the location of the external drive in the config file now:

/dev/sdb1/media/8GB

Any ideas folks? I can get to the sever, but when Rhythmbox scans, it does not find any music file

You should first try using a local folder as the music location, just to make sure that you have a good set up. You need only 1 album to test this. If you can get that to work then check the permissions for the firefly account on the removable disk.

I thought that was a given, that I could do that. I can't even do that. I've followed the directions to the T but Rhythmbox could not find a single album on the local HD. The files are in /home/media/music. So, forget external enclosure, I can't even get the local files to show up...any thoughts?
