I just wanted to point out that the beta 2 version of the Firefly Media Server solved my issues that I reported in the SoundBridge FW 2.5 beta 10 thread:

I am now running build 1025, but I will upgrade and test the latest version.

I just upgraded to build 1055 and the problem persists.

If you have .wma turned on in your config file, that's probably it. I have some sample .wma files that cause this and hope to have a new drop soon.

Actually I don't...

I have exclusively been using iTunes as my server so I have not ripped anything to wma (yet...). If everything turns out ok, I intend to rip my collection to WMA lossless, but for that I need a decent music server supporting WMAL on my old server (450MHz PII with W2kServer). I hope that Firefly will be that server eventually.

I found out that I could reproduce the Firefly crash using the "playlist" web interface of the server. When the Album list box is about to be populated the server crashes. By excluding half the library at a time I managed to find the offending album and I will mail you the songs.db for you to investigate further.

This is fixed in svn, and will be present in the next nightly. Thanks for running this to ground.

Great! I tried the latest nightly and now it works.

I also just found out that the bug I reported here (Localized characters are not shown if in beginning of song) is only fixed if using the daap interface. When using the RSP interface the bug is not fixed.

Yep, and I re-reported it to the roku guys. Looks like a firmware thing, and they've found it. It will probably be there next firmware update.
